Four years ago our family purchased this home after visiting the area for many years as our favourite holiday destination.
We have visited almost all areas of Fiji, and Malolo Lailai Island is one of the very best places you can ever visit. And with the Reef House now available for rent, you too can enjoy a tropical getaway ... as we do each year!
Location
The Reef House is located on Malolo Lailai Island in Fiji’s famous Mamanuca Islands with 553 acres of tropical paradise and 10 kilometres of white sandy beaches.. This region is renowned for its high sunshine hours and low rainfall. The island is accessed either by boat transfer from the mainland or via domestic flights that take just a matter of minutes direct from Nadi International Airport!
Accommodation
The house has three bedrooms as well as an open plan sleeping area. Two of the bedrooms have queen size beds and there are single beds in the other rooms. Six people can sleep comfortably and a maximum of eight guests is allowed. The main bedroom has an ensuite bathroom and there is a second bathroom. There is a large living room that opens out to the deck, plus a fully equipped kitchen and dining room.
Dining & Entertainment
The Reef House has a modern kitchen,fully equipped with utensils and crockery for self-catering. Supplies can be purchased at a nearby general store and there is also access on the island to buy freshly caught fish and locally grown vegetables. Banana, paw paw & coconut are found in the garden - just pick and eat! Dine indoors or al fresco on the 20 x 50 foot timber deck. It is also just a short walk to the adjacent resort restaurants and bars should you wish to dine out.
Facilities
Our property runs right to the waters edge and there are superb beaches within easy walking distance. There is also a selection of swimming pools to choose from located at the nearby resorts. The house is independently owned making it your own private and secluded retreat. However, you still get all the benefits of staying at a resort. Two nearby resorts offer many facilities which are free of charge for Reef House guests. Musket Cove Resort has a boutique store, video room, Marina & Yacht Harbour and two swimming pools. Unlimited use of snorkelling gear, canoes, kayaks, windsurfers and row boats throughout your stay can be enjoyed for just F$35 per person. Plantation Island Resort (25 minutes away) has a kids club, plus a late night disco for teenagers.
Activities
Malolo Lailai offers a wide variety of activities for the whole family, including game fishing, diving, snorkelling, coral viewing, rides on speed boats, water skiing, beach volleyball, walking and jogging along island trails, boat excursions and yacht charters. For surfing enthusiasts, some of Fiji’s top surf breaks (including Wilkes and Desperations) are only 15 minutes away by boat.
